This is the box I made for the Orcas Island Education Foundation auction, Food for thought. Every year the foundations offers and opportunity for the community to participate in creating an item for auction, this year they choose a box. I spray painted my box with a metallic copper paint and them heat embossed on the top using one of my favorite Stampin Up stamps. Then I used my Stampin Up die cut machine to cut our a 4 layer copper flower. I also used some of my left over jewelry supplies and glued them on. Some of the stones I used are Mookite and Carnelian, I also used copper tubing, chain and round balls. To finish off the inside I lined the box with hand made copper metallic paper, and wa-la! I don't even know who won the box!Audra's Scarf! For Christmas this year we decided to make gifts for one another using materials from nature. Some of us stretched our imaginations a bit. I chose to make a scarf for Audra because wool comes from sheep and sheep live in nature! Well here is the end result and what a challenge it was to finish this, not only did I run out of yarn that I had bought 4 years previous. With the help from the local shops proprietor she found one skein, ONLY 1 that matched exactly! Then I had to learn to crochet to finish this off, but what about the buttons? Thank you Barb! I have been promising to update my blog because of these Fabulous leg warmers I made. I wanted to share them with every one. I have never been very good and knitting a cuff, so with these leg warmers I had the opportunity to make 4! YIKES! It was hard work but by the time I got to the second leg warmer and the last cuff I was able to master the task! they are so comfy and warm, I made them to go specifically with a purple tunic I bought and brown leggings with green boots. What a fashion state I make! I am almost through knitting my self a matching collar/scarf similar to Audras, with a bit of a twist, I made pom-poms to use instead of buttons!
