Fishermans Bay

The first week of April found the OHS Marine Science Class at the Beach. We walked to down town Eastsound to the beach on the waterfront, commonly known at Indian Island or not so commonly known Fisherman's Bay.
Here you can see the class is circled up and receiving instructions from their fearless leader AKA Teacher Marta Branch.
The Sun came out for our 2 hours of low tide specimen search.

As the tide rapidly flows out of the sound we are finding many creatures, here is a Grunt Sculpin. Very tropical looking for our super cold Pacific Northwest waters.

The color purple, this poor starfish couldn't flow with the tide quick enough so it will have to do its best to brave and survive the elements and predators.

What a great shoot of Indian Island in Fisherman's Bay with the tide out. When we arrived the water was clear up to the second group of people. 2 hours later its time to head back to school either to catch a bus home or after school sports and maybe even completing the marine science homework!
